Holiday Shopping!

Totally off the topic of this blog but whatever. I am trying to get some of my holiday shopping done. FAIL! I have finally figured out what to get the bf but it seems that I can't find it anywhere. Well, one of the gifts anyways. His favorite baseball team is the Tampa Bay Rays. You would think that something as simple as a plain TB hat would be easy to come by. Nope. All he wants is the navy one with white writing. No other colors. Well, as of tonight, I don't think that will be happening. I have searched high and low for it, online and in stores. The only ones that I can find are in toddler and infant sizes. Definitely not going to work. So I am totally bummed about it because I was really excited to get him this. He has been saying he wants one for I don't know how long. Hmm, I guess on to the next possible gift. Aside from that and a football jersey, I really don't know what to get him. Last year was so easy for me to get him stuff. This year, definitely not. If any of you have ideas, I am open to suggestions. He is into cars, sports, and music. Easy right?! LOL I am trying to find something unique. Last year, for Valentine's Day, I gave him a photo collage of his car in a floating frame. I spent a lot of time on it and I just don't think that I can top that at this point. I really am out of ideas. Cologne, clothes... All typical. Help!!!

On another note, I am going to see my mom tomorrow. She is in town for the week on business so we will probably do some shopping, pedicures, and dinner. No word yet on whether she is interested in Dr S's protocol. I am sure she will be asking me 100 questions. We will see.

Hope everyone is well and you all had a nice weekend.

Back to LIW and Cycling.

I made it back to my LIW. It took longer then expected but I made it. I was up and down for a few days. Cut back on my cheese consumption and also not eating as many nuts. I love cashews and almonds. Just have to learn to limit how much I eat. Give me the mixed nuts and it's over. Same thing with cheese. Aww man. I seriously look forward to the end of P2 each round just so that I can eat cheese again. My bf found this awesome cheese from Whole Foods that has cranberries in it. It is delicious! I haven't been whipping up anything new lately. Just sticking with lots of chicken and fish. I have been more worried about nursing my thumb back to full health. I have to keep it covered at work because it is so dirty there. As soon as I come home, the band-aide and gloves come off. I left it uncovered last night and woke up to a nice scab. Of course that didn't last because as soon as I hoped in the shower it was gone. Either way, it has scabbed up again and it is drying out so, so far, so good.

I have decided that I am going to try to cycle next round. I will start P2 on January 3rd, loading on the 1st and 2nd. Then after the 40 days, I will go to P3 for 3 weeks and jump back into P2 after that. No P4 for the next round. Hopefully everything goes well. I am willing to take whatever comes to it. Plus this gives me plenty of time to research it and change my mind before the round comes.

I also realized today how much I miss playing soccer. I was running around the ramp today. We had 2 flights on the ground at the same time, so I am running in between gates. It's so nice to not be heaving and gasping for air anymore. I haven't been this small in a long time. I don't even think I was this small when I played soccer. Even so, it FEELS GOOOOOD!!! I can't wait for the weather to warm up so that I can get into an adult league. A group of us used to play once a week but now since the weather has cooled, we don't do it anymore. Anyway, that's all for today. Just thought I would share this with you. Happy Releasing/Maintaining. Now to check up on everyone.

Knives are EVIL!!! Oh yes they are!!!

BEWARE... THIS MAY GROSS YOU OUT. Last night I was making myself some hot and sour soup. The recipe calls for sliced or diced cabbage. Now, I would like to think that, for the most part, I am a somewhat skilled cook. I have always been able to throw things together and make something delicious. I also LOVE LOVE to cook. So, for the most part I always remember when I am slicing, dicing, chopping, whatever, to tuck my fingers in. Well, I have this problem with my thumb. I tuck all of my fingers in except for my thumb. Well, as I was chopping up my cabbage last night, sure enough, my thumb decided to get a mind of it's own. I sliced the tip of it off like it was part of the cabbage. Immediately, I put pressure on it, grabbed the skin, and ran downstairs. I calmly said to the bf that I sliced the tip off. Of course he wanted to see it. Well, I didn't want to take my finger off because I knew as soon as I did that it would start gushing. So I showed him the piece that was no longer attached. It was definitely a good chunk. I went into the bathroom and immediately put it under some water. Of course, it started gushing before I made it to the faucet. Anyway, my bf kept asking if I needed to go to the hospital. Interested to know my reply??? I said, "No, we can't go to the hospital because we will sit there for hours and we are supposed to go see Harry Potter tonight!" So that's what we did. We bandaged my thumb with gauze and everything else, went to see Harry Potter, then stopped to get some skin shield and band-aids on the way home. Today my thumb is a lot better. No more bleeding. It doesn't hurt at all actually. I just kind of have to laugh at how it happened. The moral of the story? Tuck in those thumbs AND skip the hospital visit if you are planning on seeing Harry Potter that night. It was well worth it.

Oh, but I decided that if it doesn't look like it is starting to heal tomorrow, I will go to the doctor. A couple of people have said that I may need a skin graph. We will see.

P3 Update

Hey everyone! Did you all have a nice Black Friday/Thanksgiving weekend/Cyber Monday?! I have yet to buy one thing. I am not really a fan of picking up stuff online for the holidays. I would much rather go to the store and purchase everything. Idk, it just takes the fun out of it. I know some people who buy EVERYTHING online. I know it is mostly out of sheer convenience though. I get the next to impossible stuff to find on line.

Anywho. I gained over Thanksgiving. I don't think I mentioned that in the last blog. Maybe?! What can I say... Birthday/Thanksgiving... Lots of deep fried turkey and alcohol plus the usual fixings. Being that I was drinking, I expected it to be much worse but I only gained 3.3lbs. I have lost all but .4lbs of it. I did a steak day on Friday and then an egg day yesterday. Either way, I enjoyed myself. For the first time, I actually didn't overeat during Thanksgiving. I had one small helping over everything except the turkey. The BF was so excited about deep frying it and it definitely was worth it. Him and my roommates bf stood watch over the thing. It was actually pretty hilarious because they wouldn't leave it alone. For a good hour and a half they stood there just staring at it like it was going to hop out of the fryer and run away. I think we have a picture somewhere. I will post if we do.

Other then that, things are getting back to normal. BF got a job for the holidays, which is a relief. It isn't much but the pay is decent and we will at least be able to celebrate Christmas and get a REAL tree. My roommate was adament on putting her fake one up. She has never had a real tree and I just can't deal with a fake tree. I need to be able to smell the pine! LOL Either way, we are getting a real tree. The neighbors, down the street, already have their decorations up. Picture to follow blog posting. I told my roommate we need to go out and get stuff. Let's make the decorations gawdy. LOL I want to go overboard this year! I am excited for it. It has been a looong time since I have lived in a house that can be decorated. For the past 5 years, I have lived in apartments. I am definitely excited. I need to seriously start shopping though. Oh, speaking of. Someone stole my cc number. I am really irked about that because I haven't had access to my bank account since last week. Being that it was a holiday and the mail wasn't running, I have had to wait to receive a new bank card. I am thankful that my bank found the fraud before they tried to charge a HUGE amount to my card. I have to order a new one for my other bank as well, just to be on the safe side.

One other thing... Has anyone tried cycling while on protocol??? Someone else blogged about it and I was wondering if anyone has actually done it and been successful. My concern is the stabilization issues that may come along with it. Either way, I will be starting R3 Jan 1st. I am going to the Giants vs Redskins football game on the 2nd and figure it would be a perfect day to load since we will be tailgating like crazy. The rivalry will be on. My roommate is a Redskins fan and I am a Giants fan. I just hope she doesn't leave me at the stadium after the Redskins lose!!! =0D Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Happy stabilizing/releasing. Be back tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I know I am a day late but better late then never. Yesterday was fabulous! It was also my birthday. Yes I am a turkey baby. I was born at 3:43am on Thanksgiving day 28 years ago. They say that 30 is a milestone but every year is a milestone for me, simply because I almost didn't make it to today. Anyway, I am alive and kickin' and so thankful for everyone that is apart of my life. I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that everyone enjoyed the time they had with their families. Now it is time to go back to work and take care of everyone that is traveling home after the holidays! I wish you all well and will catch up with everyone later today! Happy Friday! Happy releasing/stabilizing!

Week wrap-up - JalapeƱo Poppers recipe

This last week has been nuts. Here is a run down...
Thursday - Last day of P2 LIW 210.1 for a total loss of 77.1lb after 2 rounds
Monday - Redskins football game/tailgate. They got their butts handed to them on a silver platter. Glad I'm not a fan. We left at half time because it was 30something-7 and it was raining.
Tuesday - Root canal and hair appointment. The root canal wasn't as bad as people make it seem. I also had 2 fillings done. Left the dentist $1500 poorer. Still got my hair done and the bf took me shopping where I picked up a pair of booties and hat for a total of $40. Wahoo, I love shopping the clearance rack.
Thursday - Supervisor interview in Boston. I think/hope I nailed it. I have this horrible tendency of getting extremely nervous. I was good until about 30 min before I was suppose to go in. The nervousness subsided after about 15 minutes.
Today is Friday which also means payday!!! Gotta love it. With all the commotion going on I forgot about my godsons birthday. I really am horrible with dates. I got him this pretty awesome gift though. I'll tell you guys what it is after they get it bc I know Sarah reads this and I want it to be a surprise. Did you read that Sarah??? I'm not telling!!! Lol TOM showed up on Tuesday. Glad I stopped R2 when I did. Anyway, I won't hear back about the position until after thanksgiving. Or so they said. Keep your fingers crossed. It isn't Vegas but Richmond is a more doable move.
So that's been my crazy life. Here is the P3 Jalapeno Popper recipe for you all.
12-16 jalapenos, halved and deseeded
8oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup shredded cheese (eyeball it)
1-2 jalapenos minced
2 green onions diced
1 minced chipotle pepper
Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients together and spoon into empty jalapeno shells. Arrange on non stick cookie sheet or grease one w oil. I used Pam. Place on top rack of oven for ~15 minutes. Just watch them. You want the cheese to brown but not burn. If you want them to be less spicy, forgo the chipotle and limit how much of the minced jalapeno you mix in.
Let me know how you all like them! Enjoy! =o)
